On Friday I went down to Exeter in South Devon, for the Spring Quilt Festival at Westpoint, organized by
Grosvenor Shows and the Fabrications Magazine. I like this annual quilt show, it is not too big, but large enough to satisfy quilters needs. This time I could not even complain about the catering facilities, even the restaurant's outside terrace was open. It was a glorious spring day, with temperatures we would not mind having in the summer. Exeter is not far from the south coast, with a little warmer climate. Here the camellias and cherry trees are in the full bloom, magnolias are just opening up and the blue and purple hues of aubrieta are tumbling over stone walls.
A large part of the hall was taken up by a Quilt Exhibition. Many of the quilts on show were made by local quilters.
Here are some of the picture I have taken on the day. I will show you more tomorrow.
